Announcement of Dinner Meeting, Tuesday October 27th, 2015



We would like to announce our next dinner meeting at the Explores Club at 46 East 70th Street, between Park & Madison. Parking garage space is available new the club on 69th Street between Park & Madison. The Club rate is $34.00 for our members if parking at this garage after 5:00 p.m. Members that use this garage must have their ticket stamped at the Explorers Club. There is a subway stop at 68th Steet and Lexington Avenu - Hunter College Station.

6:00 PM - Cocktail Hour with hors d'oeuvres
7:00 PM - Dinnr
8:00 PM - Meeting (concluded at 9:00 PM)

The Lecture will be an illustrated talk about plans for the new National Historic Park at the Paterson, NJ, Great Falls, which included the original Colt revoving firearms factory. Some years ago our Club went to Paterson to see the beginning of the Colt firearms collection, now greatly expanded at the Paterson Museum.

We are fortunate in having the Park Superintendent as our speaker, whose background is as follows: Darren Boch is the superintendent of the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park, located in Paterson, New Jersey. The park was established in 2011 and is a part of the National Park System. Prior to becoming the first superintendent for the Great Falls national park, Darren sever as the Chief of Public Affairs for the Nation Parks of New York Harbor, a group of 10 national parks in the New York-New Jersey metropolitan area, to include such iconic national monuments as the Status of Libery and Ellis Island. Prior to joining the National Park Service, Darren was a vice president with a New Jersey-based public relations and strategic communications firm, providing communications counsel to clinents in the health care, financial and legal services sectors.

Let's continue our outstanding attendance records - come to the meeting, bring friends and prospective new members.

The talk promises to be interesting education and well illustrated.

LAST MEETING - We would like to thank our speaker, Mr Bill Ahearn for the most interesting and education lecture about "The Flintlock Long Arm in Colonial America".

The catering department at the Explorers Club requested that we will notify them a week in advance as to the number of members attending the dinner so that the caterer can plan accordingly.
It is very important to us that you please send in the registration form no later than Friday, October 16, 2015.

The dinner will be $65.00. It will include beer & wine, a fine multi-course dinner, nice dessert and coffee ∓ tea.

Our meeeting date also coincides with the Fine Art and Antiques Show at the Seventh Regiment Armory, Park Avenue ad 66th Street, between October 23, 2015 to October 29, 2015 where our member Mr Peter Finer always has a splendid display. Our members may obtain free adminssion by mentioning Peter's name and the Armor and Arms Club.
